The IPCopper USC10G08 is a multi-purpose 10 Gbps network recording appliance, capable of delivering high-performance and long-term full packet capture for cyber-surveillance, network security, deep packet capture, network forensics and network monitoring.

The captured data on the USC10G08 cannot be altered or modified. For security, all of the captured data is encrypted with complex, dual encryption using a 20,000 bit key. This, along with other built-in authentication and security features, means even physical access would yield nothing in terms of the ability to manipulate data. The unit itself has neither an IP address nor a MAC address; there is no way to assign them to it and it cannot respond to pings or other attempts to elicit a response.

THe USC10G8 can go anywhere on your network acting as its own network tap or connecting via a mirror/SPAN port. Unlike traditional network taps, IPCopper appliances capture network traffic simultaneously in both directions, enabling the reconstruction of events and data streams exactly as they occurred.

The proprietary multi-core software powering the USC10G08 runs in parallel directly on the IPCopper hardware.

The USC10G08 requires no configuration; the units function automatically, capturing IP/Ethernet activity in full, including packet headers and payloads. Retrieving captured data is as easy as entering the desired date and time range into the command-line utility provided with the unit. From the time of the initiation of a query from the command-line utility it takes less than ten seconds to begin receiving data; the length of time necessary to complete a download depends on the amount of data requested (read more about data retrieval).
